Reserve your FREE table space at the October 11 annual club picnic

Mill Creek Rifle Club's highly popular member swap meet returns October 11 during the annual club picnic. Members can buy and sell everything from complete firearms, to gun parts and knives, to ammo, to reloading supplies, blackpowder, and collectables. Make plans now to join fellow club members at this extravangaza of firearms, equipment, and collectibles. Last year's attendance was nearly 300 members shopping more than 30 tables, and we expect even better turnout this year.

Available table space goes fast, so get yours now. Vendors may reserve a half table or a full table by clicking here. Tables will be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis.

Festivities will begin at 9 a.m. with the swap meet in the club Pavilion. Several sub club disciplines will offer an opportunity to try their discipline, and this year will feature a special commemoration of Mill Creek's founders and dedication of the new range in their honor. Lunch will be served around noon.  And it's all free of charge!

The Mill Creek Board of Directors has convened four special executive sessions in the past four months to consider disciplinary action against club members for rules violations. The actions resulted in three members being permanently expelled from the club and two more serving temporary suspensions.

Help Wanted: Maintenance Specialist

Mill Creek Rifle Club is looking for a high-energy, skilled Maintenance Specialist committed to being a positive contributor to the team.

IN THIS ROLE YOU WILL:

  • Perform various duties as assigned related to the operation and maintenance of the club grounds and building facilities.
  • Operate, as directed, motorized power equipment and tools used for maintaining the club.
  • Operate various lawn mowing equipment, tractors, string trimmers, leaf blowers and other associated lawn equipment and hand tools.
  • Conduct various cleaning and other light maintenance operations.
  • Daily duties might include:
    • Lawn mowing of the various turf covered areas.
    • String trimming and general clean-up of the firing lines.
    • Regular trash receptacle emptying.
    • Regular plywood and cardboard target backing repair and replacement.
    • Occasional target frame repair and replacement.
    • Inspection and testing of the electronic range safety warning sirens and lights.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

The following is required to be considered for this role:

  • High school diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Demonstrated experience in the areas of wide area lawn maintenance.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform light preventative maintenance of the mowers and other power equipment.
  • Ability to push, pull, lift, and carry up to 20 pounds constantly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and kneel on hard and uneven surfaces for the full workday, and perform duties in all outdoor weather conditions throughout the full year.

ADDITIONAL DETAILS:

  • This is a day shift, part-time position on a flex schedule – Monday through Friday.
  • You may have up to two weeks of training during the weekday.
