Club Picnic and Swap Meet Returns Saturday October 11
RSVP today, and plan to join your fellow Mill Creek Rifle Club members in this popular annual event
The annual Mill Creek Rifle Club Picnic and Swap Meet returns this year on Saturday, October 11, with several new features.
This is shaping up to be the best club picnic ever. The club picnic is a great opportunity to introduce others to your club, socialize with friends old and new, sell or pick up some great gear, and participate in a club activity that everyone can enjoy. Activities will be open to club members (show your ID Badge at the door), family members, and one guest. This year, you'll find:
- The always popular club swap meet, featuring more than 30 tables of member shooting wares, from firearms to equipment to collectibles to ammo and reloading supplies.
- Ceremonial dedication of the new multipurpose range in honor of the Hodgdon Family, the founding family of the Mill Creek Rifle Club.
- Hands-on demonstrations by the Mill Creek Practical Shooting League, the Scholastic Action Shooting Program KC Steel Raiders, and other discipline-specific range opportunities. Come and try out a shooting discipline--It could become your next shooting passion.
- A full lunch provided by local Boy Scouts of America Troop 459.
The Pavilion will open at 8 a.m. for set-up of swap meet tables, with doors opening for business at 9 a.m. At 11 a.m. we'll gather at the Multipurpose Range 4 for the dedication of the new range in honor of the club founders. Following the ceremony, the Scouts will serve another of their great barbecue feasts.
Bring your spare parts and collectables, your wish list, your family, kids, or one guest. Tour the range improvements while you shop for everything from complete firearms to gun parts and knives, ammo to reloading supplies, blackpowder to collectibles. The swap meet will be held in the Pavilion, followed by a club BBQ catered by the local Boy Scout troop. Members need to show ID badges.
Lawn chairs are recommended for lunch. Hearing protection may be handy if you sit outside. If you'd like to participate in any of the shooting demostrations, please be sure to bring your usual eye and ear protection.
If you're interested in displaying at the Swap Meet, reserve your table space today. Tables are available in half-table increments, and they are available on a first-come/first-served basis. Click here to reserve your space.
Plan now to join us on October 11. Click here to RSVP so we can help the Scouts plan the meal.
Hope to see you there!
