Nominations for 2026 Officers now Open

Interested in being a Club Officer?

Mill Creek 2026 Officer Nominations are now Open until January 26

Policy, planning, financial oversight, and direction for Mill Creek Rifle Club is overseen by a board of volunteer officers and directors elected by the membership. If you're interested in joining that leadership team, or if you know of a good candidate you'd like to recommend, the elections nominating committee is now accepting applications for the three board officer positions.

As directed by the Club By Laws, biannual elections for the following club officer positions will be held at the annual meeting of the members of Mill Creek Rifle Club, at 7:30 p.m., March 3, 2026:

  • Officers - Elected to 2-year terms
    • President. This position is responsible for acting as the official spokesman to all outside entities on behalf of the club, for conducting all meetings, and assigning tasks to board of directors members, including coordinating any tasks as needed to manage the affairs of the club.
    • Vice president. The vice president assumes the responsibilities of the president in his absence, including extended absences. In addition, this position is responsible for scheduling, coordinating, and obtaining board approved for all scheduled range events, except those of contracted agencies. This officer is also responsible for coordinating regular updates to the club's standard operating procedure.
    • Treasurer. The treasurer is responsible for securing and maintaining club banking arrangements; paying club expenses within authorizations established by the bylaws and the board; maintaining and reporting current bank balances; preparing and maintaining club statements showing budget and year-to-date expenditures; preparing and filing tax returns, including related financial reports; securing club insurance as directed; and maintaining all club affiliations as determined by the board.

Note: The club secretary is a hired position, appointed by the board and not subject to election by the membership. The secretary's responsibilities include recording all board and general membership meeting minutes, distributing minutes to board members, and amending and finalizing the minutes as directed by the board; issuing all membership documentation; collecting and depositing all dues, fees, assessments, and match proceeds; and billing and collecting all outside agency revenues billed by the law enforcement liaison. In addition, the secretary maintains all membership records, club legal records, and a current club post office box address

A nominating committee, consisting of a group of three directors whose positions are not up for election during this cycle, will receive all nominations. The nominating committee consists of Legislative Director Paul Day, Law Enforcement Liaison Jennifer Gibson, and Public Relations Director Mike Smith.

Nominations must be received by the nominating committee no later than 6:30 p.m. January 26, 2026, in order to be placed on the ballot. Per the by-laws, no nominations will be accepted from the floor at the March 3 annual meeting. Nominations may be emailed to any of the nominating committee members specified above. Check the Board Contact Information page for email addresses.

Members in good standing interested in running for any of these positions should contact one of the nominating committee members immediately. Interested parties will be issued an informational questionnaire, which must be returned to a member of the nominating committee before the nominations deadline.

Board and director job descriptions may be found in the club’s by-laws. Additionally, board members are expected to attend regular monthly member and board meetings, participate in various committees, make reports and recommendations, account for income and expenditures, and meet the general responsibilities that come with serving an active club made up of more than 2,000 members, with significant infrastructure to maintain and improve. Please bear in mind that each of these positions carries significant responsibilities, typically requiring a minimum of a few hours per week to fulfill the obligations of each post. Many officers and directors spend several hours to a few days every month engaged in club business.
