When a medical emergency strikes, the first person on the scene is almost never a firefighter, paramedic, or police officer. It's YOU.
And what you do in those first critical minutes could mean the difference between life and death.
That's why Mill Creek Rifle Club is once again offering its popular CPR / AED / Stop the Bleed training on Saturday, November 7, 2026. This time, the Club is going a step further: Mill Creek will pay the registration fees for members and their guests!
That's a $25 per-person value, absolutely FREE, courtesy of the Club.
Enrollment is limited to just 16 participants. Once those seats are filled, registration closes. Don't miss this opportunity by waiting until the last minute.
According to Johnson County Med-Act, emergency ambulance response times in the vicinity of Mill Creek Rifle Club average more than six minutes for the most urgent calls. Yet a person deprived of oxygen during a cardiac emergency can begin suffering irreversible brain damage in as little as three to five minutes.
When seconds count, waiting for professional help may not be enough.
Through a special arrangement with Lifesavers CPR, participants will receive practical instruction in CPR, the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and Stop the Bleed emergency first aid. The course uses educational materials from the American Heart Association's Heartsaver CPR AED program.
Instruction will be provided by Chris White, a veteran of more than 20 years with the Kansas City, Kansas, Fire Department.
Whether you're at the range, at home, at work, or somewhere in between, these are skills you hope you'll never need — but will be forever grateful to have if you do.
