Founders Day and 250th Anniversary October 17

The annual Mill Creek Rifle Club Founders Day Picnic and Swap Meet returns this year on Saturday, October 17. Plan to attend!

Join your fellow Mill Creek members and guests to introduce others to your club, socialize with old friends and meet new ones, sell or pick up some great gear, and participate in a club activity that everyone can enjoy. Activities will be open to club members (show your ID Badge at the door), family members, and guests. Don't miss this very special celebration this year, including:

• Honoring the 250th anniversary of the United States and the freedoms we all enjoy everytime we gather to worship, debate, or shoot.
• Formal acceptance of Mill Creek's recognition by the National Rifle Association as the organization's Outstanding Club of the Year for 2025, naming us as the top club across the country.
• A celebration of the 70th anniversary of Mill Creek Rifle Club and the people who made it what it is.
• A giant raffle, including more than 1,000 potential prizes from local vendors and supporters, including reloading presses, supplies, and gunpowder. Door prizes will be liberally awarded!
• The always popular club swap meet, featuring more than 30 tables of member shooting wares, from firearms to equipment to collectibles to ammo and reloading supplies.
• Hands-on demonstrations by the individual shooting disciplines, including the Scholastic Action Shooting Program KC Steel Raiders Come and try out a shooting discipline--It could become your next shooting passion.
• A full lunch provided by local Boy Scouts of America Troop 459.

The Pavilion will open at 8 a.m. for set-up of swap meet tables, with doors opening for business at 9 a.m. At 11:30 a.m. we'll gather in the Pavilion for presentation of the Nation's colors and recognition of the club's honoring by the NRA. Following the ceremony, the Scouts will serve another of their great barbecue feasts.

Bring your spare parts and collectables, your wish list, your family, kids, or guest. Tour the range while you shop for everything from complete firearms to gun parts and knives, ammo to reloading supplies, blackpowder to collectibles. Lawn chairs are recommended for lunch. Hearing protection may be handy if you sit outside. If you'd like to participate in any of the shooting demostrations, please be sure to bring your usual eye and ear protection.
