Mill Creek Needs You!

The Board of Directors Needs your Leadership and Skills

Nominations are due February 21

As a non-profit organization, the administration of Mill Creek Rifle Club is conducted by an all-volunteer board of officers and directors elected by you, the membership. If you're interested in being part of that leadership body, or if you know of a good candidate you'd like to recommend, the elections nominating committee would like to hear from you.

As directed by the Club By Laws, annual elections for the four club officers and half the board of directors will be held at the annual meeting of the members of Mill Creek Rifle Club, at 7:30 p.m., March 1, 2022.

Those positions up for election at the March 1, 2022, meeting will include:

Note: The club secretary is a paid position, appointed by the board and not subject to election by the membership.

A nominating committee, consisting of the directors whose positions are not up for election during this cycle, will receive all nominations. The nominating committee consists of Construction Director This email address is being protected from spambots. Nominations must be received by the nominating committee no later than 6:30 p.m. February 21, 2022, in order to be placed on the ballot. Per the by-laws, no nominations will be accepted from the floor at the March 1 annual meeting. Nominations may be emailed to This email address is being protected from spambots. Members in good standing who are interested in running for any of these positions should contact one of the nominating committee members immediately. Interested parties will be issued an informational questionnaire, which must be returned to a member of the nominating committee before the nominations deadline. In addition to the nominating committee reviewing these responses, respondents will be invited to a face to face interview with the nominating committee prior to the MCRC Board Meeting on February 21 in the Clubhouse. Both of these steps are very important, as the nominating committee and the board has the responsibility to ensure that new candidates for board positions are vetted appropriately. Each of these positions carries significant responsibilities, typically requiring a minimum of a few hours a week to fulfill the obligations of each post. Many officers and directors spend several hours to a few days a month engaged in club business.

Board and Director Job Descriptions may be found in the Club’s By-Laws. Additionally, board members are expected to attend regular monthly Member and Board meetings, participate in various committees, make reports and recommendations, account for income and expenditures, and meet the general responsibilities that come with serving an active club made up of nearly 2,000 members, with significant infrastructure to maintain and improve.
