Nominations are due February 15
If you're interested in serving as an officer or a member of the board of directors of the Club, it's not too late to submit your nomination, or nominate someone else.
Annual elections for the four club officers and half the board of directors will be held at the Annual Meeting of the members of Mill Creek Rifle Club, at 7:30 p.m., March 2, 2021.
Those positions will include:
- President. The president’s responsibilities include conducting all membership, board, annual and special meetings, and assigning tasks to other board members as needed to manage club affairs. The president is also the club’s official spokesman.
- Vice president. The vice president assumes the responsibilities of the president in his absence. In addition, the vice president schedules, coordinates and obtains board approval for scheduled range events, except those on the Law Enforcement Range. He also maintains a current schedule on the club website.
- Treasurer. The treasurer is responsible for club banking arrangements, paying authorized expenses, maintaining and advising the board on current balances, preparing and maintaining a statement showing budget and expenditures, preparing and filing tax returns and related reports, and securing club insurance. The treasurer also maintains all club affiliations.
- Range officer. The range officer is responsible for Law Enforcement Range contracts, under board direction. This officer manages range scheduling by the law enforcement agencies under contract, bills those agencies, and maintains a current schedule of Law Enforcement Range use.
- Membership director. This position is responsible for all screening, interviewing, dues and fee collections and processing of candidates for membership and be responsible for all new member safety briefings.
- Construction director. This position secures the necessary labor and materials for construction projects approved by the board and membership, including obtaining bids and assuring work is done at lowest cost consistent with good quality. This position is also responsible for evaluating work prior to payment.
- Public relations director. This director manages the club website and distributes electronic and other communications following the president’s approval. This position is not the Club’s official spokesman.
Note: The club secretary is an appointed, paid position, not subject to election by the membership.
A nominating committee will receive all nominations. Nominations must be received by the nominating committee no later than 6:30 p.m. February 15, 2020.
